Accessibility statement

This site is built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Here is what that means in practice and what to do if something does not work for you.

What we conform to

Bridgeway Trade Services aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We sell into public agency work, where conformance gets asked about, so this is a requirement rather than an aspiration.

What was actually done

  • Every text and interface colour pair was checked numerically against the WCAG contrast formula rather than judged by eye. Body text meets or exceeds 4.5:1; borders and large text meet or exceed 3:1. Two colours in our own brand palette failed that check and were replaced with darker values for interface use.
  • The whole site was operated with a keyboard only, with no mouse.
  • Focus is visible on everything interactive, and the browser default is never removed without a stronger replacement.
  • There is a skip link to the main content as the first focusable element on every page.
  • Headings run in order, one h1 per page, and landmarks are real HTML elements.
  • Every form field has a associated label. Errors are described in text, announced to assistive technology, and never signalled by colour alone.
  • Interactive targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
  • prefers-reduced-motion is respected.
  • The site works with JavaScript disabled, including the contact form.
  • Layout was checked at 390, 768, 1024 and 1440 pixels wide, and text reflows without a horizontal scrollbar at 320 pixels.

Known limitations

Documents supplied by third parties (agency forms, manufacturer cut sheets, certification PDFs) are outside our control and may not be accessible. If you need something in an alternative format, ask and we will supply it.
